Strategic Planning for Southern Ukraine's Development
A strategic session was held in Odessa to discuss the development of southern regions of Ukraine.
The event was chaired by Deputy Minister for Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Ryabikin.
Also in attendance was Odessa's Deputy Mayor Anna Pozdnyakova.
«Today’s discussion is aimed at planning a future that takes into account the needs of people and the potential of territories. Integrating regional plans into a national development strategy is vital to create synergy for the country’s recovery,» noted Oleksiy Ryabikin.
During the session, participants discussed key issues facing the regions and identified priority areas for solutions.
For the Odessa region, the focus was on the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, the agricultural sector, ensuring energy resilience, and modernizing the port industry.
Significant attention was also given to upgrading social infrastructure, education, supporting internally displaced persons, accessibility, and social cohesion.
«Odessa remains a bastion of resilience and development, even in challenging times. We are focusing our efforts on modernizing infrastructure, supporting communities, and strengthening energy security. Strategic planning is not just about the future; it is also about our ability to adapt to current challenges and build a solid foundation for the recovery and prosperity of our region,» said Anna Pozdnyakova.
This series of events is supported by UNDP Ukraine and funded by the Government of Japan.
