Odesa Hockey Player Wins International Tournament

A hockey player from Odesa representing the Ukrainian national team has emerged victorious in the International Three Nations Tournament. This event, held in Austria, was a significant part of the preparation for the U18 World Ice Hockey Championship in Division 1A.

Playing for the Ukrainian national team was Ilya Bobrov, a graduate of the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School 'Dzhynestra', who serves as the main goalkeeper for the U18 team.

The opponents faced by the Ukrainian squad in this tournament included the Danish team and the host nation, Austria.

In their first match, Ukraine triumphed over Denmark with a score of 3:0.

The Odesa goalkeeper saved 25 shots, achieving a 'shutout' in the match.

In the second game, the Ukrainians secured a confident win against Austria, with a final score of 7:1, thanks to the solid performance of the goalkeeper.

Ilya Bobrov and his coach Ruslan Korop were awarded Honorary Certificates by the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council at the 'Sports Capital' awards ceremony in 2025 for their outstanding sports achievements.
