Advancements in Agricultural Land De-mining in Ukraine

In Ukraine, 426 new applications from citizens have been received for the de-mining of agricultural land under the state compensation program, with over 1.5 thousand hectares cleared by 2025.

This was reported by Volodymyr Baida, director of the Humanitarian De-mining Center (HDC), during a television broadcast, as noted by Ukrinform.

"Currently, there is considerable progress in the program. Throughout its operation, we have received 426 applications covering more than 14 thousand hectares of farmland (previously, only 3 thousand hectares were cleared in three years).

65 auctions have already taken place, with contracts signed amounting to a total of 835 million UAH. Regarding the cleared territory – this year, more than 1.5 thousand hectares have been liberated," he stated.

According to Baida, 3 billion UAH have been allocated for the program in 2025.

"Farmers are much more active this year. Last year, out of 85 operators, only eight participated in the auctions, but now there are about 20," Baida noted.

He clarified that out of 235 applications submitted this year, 110 were rejected due to the lack of non-technical land surveys.
