New Funding for School Shelters
During the meeting on April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate 830 million UAH for the modernization of shelters in general secondary education institutions.
This information was shared by Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet in the Verkhovna Rada, on his Telegram channel.
“These funds are aimed at continuing the work on establishing shelters and ensuring safe conditions in educational institutions. Funding will be provided to 15 communities, as well as the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted on his Telegram channel.
According to him, over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for shelters in schools.
It is worth mentioning that in 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for the enhancement of shelters, improvement of fire safety in schools, preparation for winter, and the creation of educational centers for the subject “Defense of Ukraine”.
