Charity Concert by Julian Milkis in Odessa
On May 15, a charity concert featuring clarinetist Julian Milkis took place at the Odessa Philharmonic.
This was reported by the Odessa Regional Philharmonic named after David Oistrakh on Facebook.
Julian Milkis, alongside the chamber orchestra, performed music by the renowned Georgian composer Gia Kancheli.
The funds raised during the concert will be donated to the charity fund 'Monsters Corporation' to support the military.
It is noteworthy that Julian Milkis is a well-known clarinetist, the sole student and protégé of jazz legend Benny Goodman. Born in Odessa, he moved to Canada during Soviet times and later settled in New York. Milkis has performed solo concerts with various orchestras including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and many others. Throughout the full-scale invasion, he has frequently returned to Odessa for charity concerts.
