Literary Festival PORT: New Cultural Horizons for Southern Ukraine
On August 30-31, the first literary festival PORT will take place in Odessa, becoming a fresh cultural venue in Southern Ukraine.
The festival is organized by the team of the NGO "Vyshyvankovy Festival", which has been hosting major cultural events in the city for over 16 years, including the Independence Day celebrations.
PORT aims to provide new opportunities for cultural renewal in the South, as announced on the festival's social media.
"Our aspiration is to create a point on the coast that would become a source of meaning for Ukrainian Southern culture. Our coastline deserves to be a literary hero in contemporary Ukrainian culture," emphasized the festival's program director, Andriy Khayetsky.
At the festival, you can expect:
- relaxation and meetings in a bookish atmosphere;
- acquaintance with those who shape contemporary Ukrainian culture;
- discussions that could change perceptions of the future of Odessa and the South;
- music born from poetry;
- craft products from local artisans;
- long-awaited meetings, cocktails, and leisurely conversations.
PORT invites not only those who have been following contemporary Ukrainian literature for a long time but also those who are just beginning to explore it.
"Our desire is to create an event in Odessa where people can communicate and relax. Our dream is for the guests of the first festival to write wonderful texts about Odessa and our lives," said the organizers.
