Greening Initiatives in Odesa
Since the start of 2025, the municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest» in Odesa has completed the removal of 1522 hazardous and dead trees and branches, including those damaged by severe weather conditions.
The inventory of trees is conducted by the Department of Urban Economy in collaboration with the Department of Ecology. Based on the assessment results, the «Miskzelentrest» carries out the removal of dangerous trees.
It should be noted that the removal of hazardous trees is performed based on citizen requests, during severe weather events, or as part of city programs for urban improvement.
Additionally, the greening specialists are engaged in stump removal. Since the beginning of the year, 828 stumps have been removed. New trees are already being planted in their place.

Stump removal is a challenging task. Until this year, the municipal workers lacked the necessary equipment for stump removal, which complicated the process. Now, the work is carried out using new machinery — the Rotor Speedy 80/100 stump grinder and the KATA KF1404 tractor with 140 horsepower, designed for timely and quality stump removal.
With the new equipment, the time required for these physically demanding tasks has been significantly reduced: previously, manual stump removal was planned for 12 hours, while now the entire process for a stump with a diameter of 70 cm takes only 40 minutes.
