Five Suspects Detained for Sabotage in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi

Under the supervision of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, five residents of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district have been charged with committing acts of sabotage, intentional damage to energy facilities, and property (Part 2 of Article 113, Part 2 of Article 194-1, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation revealed that the suspects received orders from a Russian intelligence officer to conduct sabotage at Ukrainian Railways facilities and strategically important enterprises in exchange for monetary rewards.

Over several months, they organized arson attacks on relay cabinets, transformer substations, and buildings of local authorities.

The arsons were carried out at night using flammable substances, special equipment to access cabinets, and pre-arranged transport for quick movement between locations.

To confirm their actions to their supervisors, the suspects recorded their activities on video.

Currently, all five have been placed in custody without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner by a court verdict.
