Health Worker Charged with Treason in Odessa
The Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office has sent an indictment to court regarding a healthcare worker charged with treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigations revealed that the accused voluntarily assisted Russian special services in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. In exchange for his "services," the hostile agent expected to receive a leadership position in the occupation administration if the region were captured.
The man provided the aggressor with information on the locations of personnel from the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, and the Maritime Guard in the Izmail region.
Another of his tasks was to monitor the dynamics of vessels entering the local port and the types of cargo they were carrying.
This data was used by the occupiers to prepare new and adjust previous strikes in the southern part of Odessa.
Specific information about the locations of Ukrainian defenders and military infrastructure, including building placements and geographical coordinates, was transmitted to an FSB officer via one of the messaging apps.
The agent was apprehended in August 2024, and during a search, a mobile phone containing evidence of his criminal activities was seized.
Currently, at the request of the prosecution, he is in custody.
The investigation was carried out by the SBU in the Odessa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in legal proceedings and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
