Traffic Incident: Driver Faces Charges

The indictment has been submitted to the court. The offender faces penalties including restrictions on driving privileges.

The traffic accident occurred in one of the villages of the Liman community.

During the investigation, it was determined that a 47-year-old local woman, driving a «Chery» car, was inattentive and failed to choose a safe speed, hitting a 15-year-old girl who was crossing the street, despite the possibility to avoid it.

The accident resulted in the child suffering injuries, specifically pelvic fractures, classified by a forensic expert as moderate bodily harm.

The driver was unharmed. She was tested for intoxication and was found sober.

During the investigation, the vehicle was impounded, and several expert analyses were conducted.

According to the head of the police department, Eduard Kolomiiets, after gathering sufficient evidence and including various expert opinions in the case, the police charged the driver with violating traffic safety rules, resulting in moderate bodily injury to the victim. The investigation is complete, and the indictment has been forwarded to the court under part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The offender faces up to three years of restriction of liberty and a driving ban for up to three years.

We urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations:

- within populated areas, the speed limit is no more than 50 km/h;

- actions or inaction of road users must not create danger or obstacles;

- to ensure traffic safety, drivers must remain attentive and responsive to changing road conditions.
