Arrest of Illegal Migration Organizer
A 22-year-old man was facilitating illegal border crossings for citizens wishing to leave the country. He has been charged, and a preventive measure has been selected. The perpetrator faces imprisonment and property confiscation. This was reported by the police.
Law enforcement officials discovered that a resident of the Velykomykhailivska community was searching for men willing to leave the country illegally via social media. After finding two "clients," the perpetrator offered them transfer to the Moldovan border for $5,000 each. The "service" included advice on how to safely cross the border away from checkpoints at night. He drove the "clients" to a border village in the Rozdilna district in his car.
The police arrested him near the state border after he brought the men to their destination and received $10,000 from them. As evidence, the investigators seized the money and the vehicle, which was placed under arrest. Since the charge includes property confiscation, the court may decide to confiscate the car.
«Currently, the suspect has been charged under part 3 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for organizing illegal transportation of individuals across the state border for selfish motives. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to nine years and property confiscation. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention with the right to bail,» - said investigator Bondarenko Viktoria.
