Advancements in Ukraine's Maritime Fleet

This information was announced by the press service of the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine.

It was noted that the new speedy boat will reduce fuel costs and improve the timely delivery of pilots to vessels.

“The introduction of this new pilot boat is a significant step in strengthening our fleet and enhancing port efficiency,” said Alexander Semyrha, head of the ASU.

The boat is named after Sergey Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to maritime affairs and trained many generations of specialists. Sergey Cheberyakov tragically lost his life in 2023 while trying to escape from the occupied territory of Kherson region.

In December 2024, the pilot boat “Bolotin” started operations on the Danube, built with the support of the USAID program, while the construction of a third boat is ongoing in Izmir, Turkey.
