Electricity Supply Situation in Ukraine
Ukrenergo has refuted rumors about the potential return of power outages.
The company's press service stated that recently some media and Telegram channels have been spreading news with sensational headlines. "This information is false. No restrictions are currently in place," the company emphasized.
However, Ukrenergo highlighted that there is a real need for energy conservation due to ongoing repair work on energy facilities after Russian attacks. As temperatures drop, electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased significantly, as many people are turning on fireplaces, heaters, and air conditioners.
Additionally, with the end of the heating season, some generating facilities have ceased operations, as they cannot produce electricity independently without thermal energy.
The situation is further complicated by cloudy weather, which affects the efficiency of solar power plants.
Therefore, Ukrenergo urges citizens to reduce the use of high-power electrical appliances and avoid turning on multiple devices at the same time from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
As a reminder, due to a significant drop in temperatures, electricity consumption in Ukraine exceeded the level of the previous working day by 16% as of April 7.
On April 8, consumption remained high. As of 9:30 AM, the consumption level was 2.3% higher than the same time the previous day.
