Supporting Entrepreneurship Among Displaced Persons in Odessa

On October 31, 2024, a city council meeting was held in Odessa addressing the issues of internally displaced persons.

The main focus of the meeting was on fostering the development of small and medium enterprises among displaced individuals.

Future entrepreneurs from the internally displaced community were provided with information about:

- the process of registering legal entities and individual entrepreneurs: key principles, required documents, and recommendations;

- the taxation system for business entities: options for small and micro businesses;

- business financing programs from «Ukreximbank»;

- funding programs from «Oschadbank»;

- recovery and expansion opportunities through market access and sustainable economic transformations from the «Caritas Odessa UGCC» charity fund;

- assistance for entrepreneurs in starting and developing their businesses;

- support programs for business entities in Odessa.

After the meeting, participants had the opportunity to engage with service providers who informed them about potential grants and compensation for employment of displaced persons, as well as provided contacts for future business promotion.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Department of Labor and Social Policy, the Department of Economic Development, the State Registration Authority, the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Odessa Region, the Odessa branch of the Regional Employment Center, Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, the Business Support Center Diia in Odessa, the «Caritas Odessa UGCC» charity fund, and internally displaced persons.
