Cycling Competitions in Odesa: New Heights
On August 31, Odesa hosted the grand cycling event Odesa Grand Prix, which has become a significant part of the city’s culture.
This year’s Odesa Grand Prix attracted cycling enthusiasts from the Republic of Moldova, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Nemyriv, and Zaporizhzhia, highlighting the event's growing popularity.
The second day of the competition featured the Odesa championship in sprint cycling, where participants battled fiercely for victory.
Among the winners in various age categories were Odesa locals: Oleg Ivankov (Atlet CG), Andriy Pyrrh, Yuriy Anderson, Yuriy Smirnov, Andriy Hladkyi, Andriy Shvets, Serhiy Lychko, Hryhoriy Bayrak, Mykola Vakhrameyev, Vladyslav Salnikov, Yuriy Smirnov (Project 13), and Hryhoriy Savenko.

The Odesa Grand Prix was first held in 1995, and since 2007 it has gained nationwide status. From 2015 to 2019, it also featured in the international UCI calendar.
