Cultural Exchange: Odesa in Venice
As part of the Odesa Days in Venice, a grand concert took place at the famous Teatro La Fenice — one of the world's most prestigious opera houses. This event marked a significant step in cultural diplomacy between Ukraine and Italy, emphasizing the strong connections between Odesa and Venice.
The stage featured outstanding Odesa musicians: world-renowned violinist Georgiy Sokolov, talented pianist Anastasia Melnik, and singer Anastasia Bukina. They presented a rich program that combined classical pieces with modern interpretations. A highlight of the evening was the performance of authentic Odesa songs. Their performance served as an emotional opening for a series of events that will continue in Venice over the next few days.
Odesa's Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov expressed gratitude to Venice's Mayor Luigi Brugnaro for his support and assistance in organizing this grand event. Additionally, the event will feature the participation of Ukrainian veterans in the prestigious Venetian regatta — a first in history.
