Challenges of Reconstruction and Innovations in Urban Planning
Oleksandr Filatov, the First Deputy Mayor of Odesa, welcomed the participants of the V International Scientific and Practical Conference «Innovative Technologies in Urban Planning».
The event took place from October 24 to 26 at the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
In his opening speech, Oleksandr Filatov emphasized that since the beginning of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the city authorities face the urgent task of restoring destroyed objects, many of which are architectural and historical monuments.
«Equally important today is the planning of territories and the development of urban planning documentation considering what they should look like after the end of hostilities. Scientific research, which incorporates professional experience and innovative technologies, is essential here. I hope the conference will yield materials that will aid in the further restoration of our city and country», - stressed the First Deputy Mayor.
The V International Scientific and Practical Conference was organized by the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture with support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, the Odesa City Council, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Poland), the Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, the National University «Lviv Polytechnic», and various public organizations.
