Renovation of Odesa Lyceum No. 56: New Opportunities for Students

In Odesa, the renovation of one of the largest educational institutions in the Primorsky district — Odesa Lyceum No. 56, located at 1 Tynystaya Street, is ongoing.

The renovation work is being carried out with the implementation of advanced energy-saving technologies and modernization of the premises.

As of today, the following has been accomplished:

  •  landscaping of the territory: sports areas equipped with safe surfaces;
  •  partial replacement of the metal fencing;
  •  construction of a new ramp for accessible entry from Tynystaya Street;
  •  restoration of the sidewalk opposite the school;
  • insulation of the building's roof; 
  •  entrances fitted with ramps and covered with non-slip tiles.

Currently, work is underway on insulating the facades and the base, restoring pavements, installing canopies over the entrances, and setting up a drainage system. 

Additionally, landscaping of the area continues. By the end of the year, it is planned to install sports equipment, basketball hoops, and complete the fencing of the sports areas.

This year, a mural titled “Towards the Dream” was unveiled on the facade of the lyceum, created as part of a joint project between the NGO “Ukrainian Sappers Association” and the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.

Additional information
The educational institution located at 1 Tynystaya Street was founded in 1946. Initially, it was housed in two old buildings. In 1964, a three-story block was constructed, and in 1983, additional premises were added.
Currently, more than 1200 students study at the lyceum, with over 100 teaching staff, making it one of the largest educational institutions in the Primorsky district of Odesa.
