New Shelters for Schools in Odesa Region

The Ukrainian government has decided to fund 60 projects aimed at creating shelters in educational institutions, with 6 of them being implemented in the Odesa region.

The primary goal of this funding is to support communities that face high safety risks, where the presence of shelters is critical.

The first shelters will be constructed in schools of the Kodym, Lyman, Mayaki (two facilities), Vygodianska, and Kuyalnytska communities.

The selection of projects was conducted through the electronic platform DREAM, which also enables monitoring of the construction process and reporting.

The working group of the Odesa Regional State Administration, led by Oleksandr Kharlov, actively supported the applications from our region.

We expect the approval of an additional 50 projects, which have already received backing from the Ministry of Education and Science. Among them are the co-funding of three bomb shelters in the Dobroslav, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Molohiv communities, as well as consideration for funding a shelter for a school in the Vilkivska community.

A safe educational environment is not just about comfort; it is also about ensuring protection for every child and teacher. We continue to work to ensure that all educational institutions in Odesa have reliable shelters!
