Fire Breaks Out in High-Rise Building in Odesa
A fire broke out in a high-rise building in Odesa due to an electrical short circuit. The firefighting efforts were hampered by heavy smoke.
According to the State Emergency Service, the incident occurred today, May 10, in the Primorsky district. The fire started in an apartment on the 7th floor of a 14-story residential building on Literary Street.
"Emergency units responded to the fire with an elevated alarm level. The firefighting was complicated by dense smoke. Firefighters used breathing apparatus for protection. It took them about half an hour to completely extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be a short circuit in the electrical wiring. A total of 10 units of equipment and 40 firefighters were involved in the operation," the report stated.
