Developing an Inclusive Space in Odesa

Today, an important working meeting took place in Odesa, gathering specialists from the project «Inclusive Movement», representatives of city and regional authorities, and members of the Barrier-Free City Council. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Filatov.

As Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov noted, Odesa is one of 15 pilot cities participating in the flagship project «Inclusive Movement» under the patronage of Olena Zelenska.

As part of the project, funded by local and state budgets, an inclusive walking route is planned in Odesa to connect key social facilities with the tram line.

This route will run along Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue, starting from the intersection with Kishinivska Street and ending at the Odesa Regional Clinical Hospital, including access to the Administrative Services Center on David Oistrakh Street.
The route will feature barrier-free elements: comfortable walkways, ramps, adapted public transport stops, parking spaces, and information systems to facilitate movement for people with disabilities.

Currently, the project works are being coordinated with experts who are conducting inspections of the reconstruction sites.

Additionally, a working group led by Kyiv specialists visited the coast of Odesa to review the progress of creating an inclusive beach and various social infrastructure facilities.
