New Stamp for Infantry Day: Honoring Heroes

«New Stamp for Infantry Day»: ceremonial cancellation of a charity issue

Today, May 27, a solemn special redemption of the new "Salt of the Earth" charity postage stamp dedicated to Infantry Day took place.

This release honors the unyielding strength of infantry soldiers who are the backbone of the Ukrainian army.

The stamp symbolizes gratitude to those who stand ready to defend our nation, maintain the defense, liberate occupied territories, and repel enemy attacks.

The stamp's designer is renowned Ukrainian artist, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize Andriy Yermolenko. He depicted a Ukrainian soldier trampling a two-headed eagle — a symbol of victory over imperial aggression.

Andriy Yermolenko, already known for his sketch for the stamp «They Stood Firm! The Concrete Couldn’t Hold!» (2020), emphasizes: «Infantrymen are those whose boots first step on enemy soil. They protect rather than conquer».

The stamp's value is 20 hryvnias (letter U) + 8 hryvnias for charity. The charitable contribution (8 hryvnias from each stamp) will be allocated for reconstructive surgery for Ukrainian defenders who suffered from explosive injuries.

Print run — 150,000 copies.

Let’s join together to support those who defend our future every day!
