New Initiatives for Barrier-Free Environment in Odesa
In Odesa, new initiatives for creating a barrier-free environment are underway.
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has unveiled a new design for communications within the framework of the National Strategy aimed at establishing a barrier-free space by 2030.
This design includes:
- a unique logo;
- defined rules for font and color usage;
- a visual identity,
- based on six dimensions of barrier-free access:
- physical;
- informational;
- educational;
- digital;
- civic;
- economic.
Each aspect is represented as a separate point within the logo. Together, they form a circle — a symbol of unity, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all, regardless of their characteristics.
Currently, the marking of the barrier-free route in Odesa is taking place with this logo.
This is an important part of the initiative launched by the Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, as part of the pilot project "Movement Without Barriers". The marking is carried out by expert groups from the Barrier-Free Council with the involvement of people with disabilities, urban planners, and accessibility specialists.
