Southern Ukrainian Forum for Internally Displaced Persons in Odesa

On October 22, 2025, a forum took place in Odesa that brought together internally displaced persons from Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.

The main goal of the event was to address the issues faced by these individuals and to foster effective communication between local authorities and the displaced persons themselves.

Among the participants were local government representatives, including acting Deputy Mayor of Odesa, Serhiy Kozyuba.

Welcoming remarks were made by officials, including Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

During the panel discussions, representatives shared their experiences and successful cases regarding social protection. The importance of involving displaced persons in decision-making processes affecting their lives was emphasized.

A new online platform called «IDP Councils Portal» https://radyvpo.org.ua/ was also launched, featuring interactive resources and useful materials.

Currently, over 220,000 internally displaced persons are registered in the Odesa region, with 134,500 individuals recorded in social protection departments.
