Celebrating Arts: The Odesa Opera Festival

On Independence Day of Ukraine, August 24, the grand opening of the X Jubilee International Arts Festival "Velvet Season at the Odesa Opera – 2025" will take place, running until September 14. This cultural celebration promises to be a true gift for lovers of high art.

According to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the festival program includes premieres, masterpieces of opera and ballet classics, contemporary productions, and gala concerts. On opening day, audiences will be treated to a new staging of Mykola Lysenko's opera "Natalka Poltavka".

"As part of the festival, a unique printed edition titled "Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet: Heritage, Soul, Citadel" will be presented," the announcement states.

This book will serve as an artistic testament to the centuries-old history of the legendary theater, its spiritual strength, and significant role in the cultural landscape of Ukraine and the world. It will unveil unique pages of life from one of Europe's most beautiful opera theaters.

Particularly symbolic will be the festival's conclusion - in the Hellenic Republic, a performance of Adolphe Adam's ballet "Giselle" will be presented by leading artists of the Odesa Opera. This step symbolizes the unity of cultures and the resonance of ancient aesthetics within the European operatic tradition.

The Jubilee Festival "Velvet Season at the Odesa Opera – 2025" will mark a significant event in Ukraine's cultural life, showcasing the strength and beauty of Ukrainian art even in the most challenging times. The Odesa Opera once again proves that culture is an integral part of national identity and the spiritual resilience of the nation.
