Establishment of a New Public Space in Odesa
Odesa is preparing to launch a new public space - the Odesa Public Hub, aimed at improving the interaction between citizens and the government.
This announcement was made during an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee by the city mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov.
According to the mayor, this hub will serve as an equal opportunity space where community organizations can operate, hold meetings, and collaboratively implement projects aimed at enhancing the lives of local residents and internally displaced persons.
The new space will be located in a two-story building with a large basement on Uspenska Street, which has been transferred to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The capital repair will be handled by the relevant Capital Construction Department, which has already prepared the necessary project documentation.
“Our active youth have stepped up. In December, the city won a grant from UNDP for nearly $150,000 and will act as the contractor for the repair work. The project is to be implemented by March 15, 2025,” the mayor reported.
By the decision of the Executive Committee, the project documentation has been transferred from the Capital Construction Department to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The mayor instructed the head of the construction department to assist the youth in implementing the “Odesa Public Hub” project.
