Modern Trams: Enhancing Accessibility for All
Another tram in Odessa has been upgraded and is now equipped with a unique lift for individuals with disabilities.
"Odescityelectrictrans" has successfully completed the modernization of another «Tatra» car, which will soon be put into service on city routes.
The standout feature of this newly upgraded tram is a special lift, developed by local engineers, designed to provide easy access for passengers with limited mobility. These lifts were showcased to the Odessa delegation during the InnoTrans - 2024 international transport exhibition in Berlin. The Mayor of Odessa noted that this is a prime example of successful international cooperation.
The design has passed all technical tests and received positive feedback from ambassadors of the «Barrier-Free Movement» initiative. The company has now filed for a patent for this development.
«We are not just upgrading transport; we are creating comfort and accessibility for every resident. Such projects have become the norm for Odessa, but I am well aware of the immense effort behind each achievement,» stated the Mayor of Odessa.
The upgraded tram is ready to hit the streets, and specialists are already working on the next enhancements.
