New Inclusive Beach Opens in Odessa: A Major Step Toward Accessibility
On July 1, 2025, an inclusive beach was inaugurated at the 11th station of the Great Fountain. This initiative marks a significant advancement in creating an accessible environment in Odessa, offering opportunities for recreation to veterans, people with disabilities, and other mobility-challenged groups.
This inclusive beach exemplifies how spaces can be transformed for everyone. This was highlighted by Tatiana Lomakina, the President of Ukraine's Advisor on Barrier-Free Issues, following her visit to Odessa. She toured the municipal inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Great Fountain and praised the city's efforts in developing the beach. Tatiana Lomakina noted that the construction process was closely monitored to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
“Step by step, our coastline is becoming a barrier-free space. The beach is rarely empty; it attracts both tourists and locals,” said the President's Advisor on Barrier-Free Issues.
