Celebrating Bulgarian Culture in Odesa: Music and Traditions
The Bulgarian Culture Week in Odesa concluded with a magnificent concert. November 1st — National Awakening Day — is a holiday that unites Bulgarians around the world.
The Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria addressed the audience, presenting certificates of appreciation for significant contributions to the development of Bulgarian culture.
“During the festival, we had the chance to engage with the rich cultural heritage of the Bulgarian people — music, literature, and folk art. These events highlight our deep cultural connections and shared traditions. Bulgaria has made a significant impact on the development of Odesa, and the Bulgarian community remains an integral part of our society,” emphasized acting Mayor of Odesa Ihor Koval.
The concert featured the renowned folk singer and composer Iliya Lukov from the Macedonian region, known for his initiatives supporting Bulgarian identity both in Bulgaria and abroad.
Folk groups from Odesa also performed, bringing warmth, sincerity, and the richness of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cultural ties to the audience.
