City Administration Collaborates with UN to Enhance Humanitarian Conditions in Odesa

On October 15, 2024, an important meeting took place at the Odesa city administration between acting mayor Oleksandr Filatov and UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine Matthias Schmale.

Also present were: head of the Europe and Central Asia Department of the UN Abdul Hak Amiri, acting head of the UN OCHA in Ukraine Ann-Sophie Le Beaux, along with other representatives of humanitarian organizations.

The meeting focused on security issues and the humanitarian needs of the city amid military aggression, as well as support for internally displaced persons and preparation for the winter season.

UN representatives emphasized the need for assistance to internally displaced persons and the establishment of modular shelters in Odesa.

They also discussed ensuring the stable operation of heating and water supply systems for social institutions during the autumn-winter period.

Oleksandr Filatov expressed gratitude to international partners for their support in rebuilding damaged homes.
