16 Days Against Violence Campaign in Odesa
From November 25 to December 10, 2024, Ukraine is hosting the annual campaign «16 Days Against Violence», which Odesa has joined. The official opening took place in the City Garden.
The event featured representatives from the Odesa City Council's Executive Committee, organizations working to prevent domestic violence, and local activists.
«The issue of violence is critical worldwide, and everyone faces it in some way. It's essential to speak out and combat this disgraceful phenomenon - only then can we prevent further violence and its consequences,» - said the director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy, Olena Kytainska.
During the event, experts provided consultations for those affected by domestic and gender-based violence and distributed informational materials.
Women and girls were given flowers as a symbol of the fight against violence.
The goal of the national campaign «16 Days Against Violence» is to draw public attention to the pressing issues of domestic violence and gender-based violence, ensuring equal rights for women and men.
The campaign is organized by the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council.
