International Mission Visits Odessa

An international delegation comprised of representatives from the UN, including the Secretary of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), is visiting Odessa.

The visit, featuring five UN ambassadors and other distinguished guests, has been organized by UNDP in Ukraine in collaboration with UNOPS and UNFPA.

During their working visit, the delegation toured facilities supported by the UN.

The mayor expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Odessa, particularly for its role in the renovation of one of the departments of Hospital No. 8.

Gennady Trukhanov noted that the facility is a regular hospital and does not provide emergency services. However, it has already saved several lives, as victims from hostile attacks needing urgent medical care have been brought here. This assistance was made possible by the highly qualified staff working under excellent conditions and with new equipment.

Participants in the meeting also discussed further cooperation, including attracting international investment for infrastructure projects such as the reconstruction of sewage and drainage systems, and the construction of housing for internally displaced persons.
