UNDP Training in Odessa: New Opportunities for Projects

Odessa hosted a training session organized by the UNDP team focusing on the implementation of infrastructure initiatives within the framework of Ukraine's recovery program.

Over two days, representatives from 15 communities across multiple regions had a unique opportunity to engage with UNDP experts regarding the execution of projects in their areas, receiving valuable guidance and support.

Odessa's mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, expressed gratitude to the organizers for their fruitful collaboration and support for new initiatives.

"Our partnership began back in 2020. I have always emphasized the need for transparency and efficiency. Now we see the results: from 5 projects worth 276 million UAH to 7 new ones totaling over 813 million, which are expected to be completed by 2025," the mayor stated.

In particular, in Odessa, projects have been implemented in the education and healthcare sectors. The reconstruction of school No. 41 and part of city hospital No. 8 has been completed. The restoration of three more educational institutions is nearing its final stages.

Plans are also underway for major repairs of two schools, a maternity hospital, as well as the infection hospital and hospital No. 1.

All projects are implemented under co-financing conditions, with local budgets covering 20% of the expenses.
