Meeting of Odessa's Mayor with New Turkish Consul
On October 24, 2024, an important meeting took place in Odessa between Gennady Trukhanov, the mayor of Odessa, and the newly appointed General Consul of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Muhittin Celik. The main goal of this meeting was to establish connections and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Mr. Celik emphasized the importance of Turkey's support for Ukraine:
«I follow your updates and can say that you do much more than just your duties as mayor. Turkey has supported Ukraine since the occupation of Crimea in 2014, and we will continue to provide humanitarian aid».
Mayor Trukhanov expressed gratitude to the Turkish people for their support and hopes for further cooperation, especially in the area of investment.
«It is a pleasure to meet you. We are very thankful that Turkey is one of Ukraine's strategic partners, particularly Odessa. During the war, we have received significant assistance from your country, including buses, generators, and medical supplies. Despite the war, we are developing the city's economy and hope for Turkish investments», - said Gennady Trukhanov.
The parties expressed their readiness for further close cooperation to support humanitarian and economic projects in Odessa.
