Collaboration to Enhance Gender Equality in Odessa
The Deputy Mayor of Odessa, Pavlo Vugelman, held a meeting with Sabina Nicole Fraser, the head of the «UN Women» Office in Ukraine.
Also present were the Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy, Olena Kytainska, and the Mayor's advisor on gender equality, Liliya Leonidova.
The main topic of discussion was the implementation of gender policy at the local level.
The parties also talked about the status of projects aimed at assisting victims of domestic and gender-based violence.
Participants discussed the city's efforts to combat violence, particularly the creation of specialized support services - daytime assistance centers and mobile teams for social-psychological support.
Additionally, representatives from the «UN Women» Office conducted a monitoring of women's rights and the rights of vulnerable populations in Odessa.
Based on the report, the city will receive technical and methodological support in the fight against gender-based violence.
