A New Judicial Era for Children
On November 28, an important event took place in Kyiv, marking a significant step towards creating an effective judicial system where children's rights are prioritized.
The seminar, part of a new project, brought together leading experts and international partners to discuss new approaches that could change the lives of many children.
Why is this more than just a reform?
Imagine a court where every decision is made with the child's needs in mind, where the judge not only knows the law but also understands the emotions and experiences of children.
This will become a reality thanks to the new specialization of judges supported by key institutions, including the Supreme Court, UNICEF, and others.
Three steps to implement change:
- Introduction of specialization for judges — they will undergo specialized training and work in teams with psychologists and social workers.
- Education for specialists in children's rights and creating a safe family environment.
- Creating child-friendly conditions — special rooms in courts that help reduce stress for young participants.
This project is just the first step toward significant changes in legislation and the formation of a judicial system that prioritizes children's interests.
This is not just about reforms. It's about care, compassion, and building a world where every child feels safe.
