New Horizons of Collaboration in Inclusion
On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a delegation from the Odessa region had the opportunity to meet with the State Commissioner for Disability Affairs of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Mr. Arne Frankenstein.
During the meeting, held within the framework of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, preliminary agreements were reached on collaboration in sharing experiences regarding the implementation of inclusive practices and accessibility in various fields. Special attention was given to the training of social work specialists and the creation of innovative barrier-free spaces for all population categories.
The German side shared valuable insights and experiences in resolving pre-trial conflicts arising from the discrimination against persons with disabilities.
Furthermore, we received assurances of support in finding partners to provide the Odessa region with specialized vehicles for transporting persons with disabilities, which is extremely important for our region.
We sincerely thank Mr. Arne Frankenstein and the German side for their openness to cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the desire to work together towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
