Former Police Officer Sentenced for Justifying Russian Aggression

A former police officer in Odesa has been sentenced to 5 years for justifying Russian aggression.

The Odesa regional prosecutor's office announced that the court found the woman guilty of spreading materials that justified Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014. The court sentenced her to 5 years in prison.

"Prosecutors proved that, while serving as an investigator in the police department, the woman openly criticized the government and supported the actions of the occupiers. Through her Instagram channel, which had over 7,000 followers, she disseminated materials that denied and justified Russia's armed aggression. To conceal her activities, she used special software to mask her IP address."

"During the trial, the accused did not acknowledge her guilt, awaiting the verdict in custody."
