Discussion on Law Enforcement Support Amidst War

A meeting took place to discuss the operations of law enforcement under war conditions and international support.

Representatives of the EU Monitoring Mission in Odesa, led by Anders Johansen, expressed gratitude to local police for their dedication and solidarity against aggression.

The police, headed by Ivan Zhuk, shared insights into the challenges they are currently facing. Topics included crimes committed by hostile forces, civilian safety, and combating transnational crime, including drug and arms trafficking.

During the discussion, significant attention was given to the need for modernization and increasing police resources to address the scale of the tasks at hand.

European partners emphasized the importance of supporting the Odesa police in challenging conditions and their readiness to provide comprehensive assistance, which would enhance operational effectiveness. Discussions also covered the transfer of best practices and professional equipment from other European nations.

The police chief expressed appreciation to the Mission representatives for their ongoing support and collaboration.
