The Dangerous Game: Red Doors, Yellow Doors
A new dangerous trend is gaining popularity among children on social media, known as "Red Doors, Yellow Doors". This game involves trying to induce a trance-like state in participants.
Experts from the National Social Service of Ukraine warn about potential risks to children's physical and psychological well-being.
During the game, children attempt to put one another into a hypnotic state using relaxation and visualization techniques. Consequently, the child supposedly sees imaginary rooms, which they describe.
Experts emphasize that such activities can be harmful, causing physical issues like spasms, headaches, and dizziness, as well as psychological disturbances.
Similar games can increase intracranial pressure, which might lead to serious consequences, especially in children with congenital conditions.
Additionally, "Red Doors, Yellow Doors" can trigger anxiety and disorientation, sometimes resulting in panic attacks and the development of psychosis.
Other potential consequences include nightmares and distortions of reality.
Moreover, these dangerous trends pose social and behavioral risks for children, such as:
- isolation;
- irritability;
- nervousness;
- engagement in dangerous or criminal activities.
"It is crucial to note that the aggressor country may use gaming mechanisms to recruit children for real crimes and participation in sabotage – arson, planting explosives, and damaging infrastructure," emphasized the social service.
What should parents do if their children are engaging in dangerous trends?
Parents are advised to build trusting relationships with their children to detect interests in dangerous trends promptly. They should calmly discuss the game with their child, asking about their interests and listening without judgment.
Then, it is essential to explain the potential risks of such games, discussing their effects on the psyche and the possibility of being drawn into criminal activities.
"Be attentive to emotional behavior. If the child becomes withdrawn, anxious, or has nightmares after the conversation, seek help from a psychologist," added the specialists.
This year, a dangerous challenge involving children making firecrackers circulated on social media. As a result of attempts to create pyrotechnics independently, three children were hospitalized in Lviv within a week.
