Agricultural Achievements of the Odessa Region

The Odessa region ranks first in Ukraine for grape cultivation, with 58% of this crop produced here. Despite the war, the agricultural sector shows significant growth.

According to the magazine "Agribusiness of Ukraine," Odessa remains a leader.

Leadership in Agriculture

In addition to grapes, Odessa also boasts the highest numbers of sheep and goats — 28% of the total livestock in Ukraine lives in this region. We also lead in barley production, accounting for 18% of the national total. Good results are also seen in wheat and rapeseed cultivation — each at 11%.

Growth During War

Despite the difficult economic situation, Odessa has achieved significant growth in agriculture over the three years of war, amounting to +8.6%. Meanwhile, other regions are facing decline. For example, Mykolaiv shows a decrease of -16.8%, Sumy -14.9%, and Chernihiv -6.7%. The highest growth was recorded in Kyiv region (+23.2%).
