Young Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking
A 20-year-old man has been charged and a preventive measure has been chosen. He faces potential imprisonment.
Patrol officers stopped a local resident on the Health Route where he was placing "drops" of illegal substances. A response team confiscated 22 zip packets filled with psychotropic substances confirmed by express tests.
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the suspect was communicating with an unknown supplier online, receiving illegal goods by mail, packaging them at home, and distributing them through "drops," documenting everything on his phone.
Investigator Marina Yermolenko stated that the suspect has been charged under parts 1 and 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal acquisition, storage, and distribution of psychotropic substances, including a repeat offense. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention, allowing bail set at 60,565 hryvnias. Under current legislation, he faces up to 10 years in prison with property confiscation.
During the preliminary investigation, police will identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa.
