Foreign Vessel Seized in the Black Sea
As a result of a special operation conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service, a foreign vessel was apprehended in the Black Sea while illegally transporting Ukrainian agricultural products to third countries, taken from temporarily occupied territories.
This was reported by the SBU.
According to sources, the vessel is named Anka.
The investigation revealed that the seized vessel was part of Russia's 'shadow' fleet, used to sell looted Ukrainian grain to third countries. In late 2024, the freighter exported 5,000 tons of wheat from the port of Sevastopol, which was stolen from the temporarily occupied southern Ukraine.
The State Border Guard Service stated that to disguise the origin of the cargo, the vessel was sailing under the flag of one of the Asian countries.
During the search, navigational equipment, ship documentation, and other physical evidence confirming the involvement of the vessel and crew in the illegal transportation scheme were confiscated.
The vessel has been arrested, and the crew detained. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing.
