Emergency Services in Odesa Prepare for Rainfall
Since the onset of the prolonged rain in Odesa, the special equipment of the municipal enterprise «City Roads» has urgently been deployed to the streets to combat potential flooding.
Currently, traffic through the city remains clear. However, parts of 5th st. V. Fontana and Yarmarkova street are partially flooded. A total of 344 specialists and 46 units of equipment are working on the streets.
In cases of prolonged rain, like today, specialized water pumping machines, including a high-pressure hydrodynamic unit based on a MAN truck, are traditionally stationed on streets such as Balkivska, Prymorska, Yevhen Chykalenko, Heavenly Hundred, as well as on French Boulevard and Customs Square, where flooding is typically possible during heavy rain.
Additionally, staff from the municipal enterprise «City Roads» are on the streets using excavators with special attachments or manually clearing storm drains and sewer wells of debris, branches, and leaves that wash into them from the city streets with rainwater.
