Emergency Measures Against Flooding in Odesa
Since the beginning of the prolonged rain in Odesa, special equipment from the municipal enterprise «City Roads» has been deployed to prevent potential flooding on the city's streets.
Currently, traffic on the roads is clear. A total of 329 specialists and 48 units of special equipment are working on the streets.
In case of prolonged rains, like today, special water pumping machines, including a high-pressure hydro-dynamic unit based on a MAN truck, are traditionally stationed on the streets: Balkivska, Prymorska, Yevhen Chykalenko, Heavenly Hundred, on French Boulevard and Customs Square, where flooding can usually occur during heavy rain.
Additionally, employees of the municipal enterprise «City Roads» are on the streets, using excavators with special attachments or manually clearing storm drains and sewer wells of debris, branches, and leaves brought there by rainwater flows.
