Meeting with Odessa Farmers: New Opportunities for the Region
Yesterday, a significant meeting took place involving the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Oleg Kiper, the Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval, and the head of the State Fisheries Agency Vladislav Nevesely. The meeting addressed pressing issues for Odessa's agricultural community, as reported by the press service of the OVA.
Key topics included irrigation, which is crucial for our region. Other discussions focused on livestock, agro-processing, and fisheries. Additional subjects included breeding, agricultural education development, construction of vegetable storage facilities, and support for domestic winemaking. Moreover, a new irrigation system was launched in the Odessa district.
This irrigation system covers over 12,200 hectares of agricultural land, with a total length of 120 km of main channels. It consists of 47 pump stations that supply water to a closed irrigation network. Participants also visited agro-industrial enterprises to familiarize themselves with production capabilities and engage with company staff.
