Sergiy Basok's Art Exhibition in Odesa
The Odesa Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M. S. Grushevsky is currently hosting an exhibition by Sergiy Basok — a talented decorative artist from the Odesa Academic Theater of Musical Comedy named after M. Vodianoy.
The exhibition is titled "Shades of Ukraine". It features landscape paintings from various regions of the country that Sergiy has visited:
"You can find Chernihiv and the Carpathians, Vinnitsa, Cherkasy region, and Khmelnytskyi. There’s even a sketch from Crimea made before 2013. And of course, there’s Odesa and its surroundings, where traditional houses stand near the reeds. Budak is a beautiful place. On one side, there’s a lagoon, on the other, the sea, with a spit stretching about 40 kilometers," the artist shared.
The exhibition "Shades of Ukraine" is an opportunity to see familiar places from a new perspective and discover new corners of our country through the lens of color and emotion, the organizers noted.
"I paint what resonates with me, what I feel. The main thing is to have positive energy in my soul to convey it through painting. If a painting 'sings' — it works on the viewer. I put some emotion into it, and the colors ‘speak’ on the canvas. This, in my opinion, is very important," added Sergiy Basok.
