Music of Freedom: Ukrainian Military Band on the Global Stage

From August 1 to 23, 2025, Edinburgh, Scotland hosted one of the most significant musical events in the world - the 75th anniversary festival of military bands.

Among the participants of this unforgettable event was the Ukrainian Naval Forces Band, bringing the music of freedom and strength of our nation.

To the sounds of Ukrainian marches, folk songs, and modern arrangements, musicians from Odesa showcased not only their professionalism but also the indomitable spirit of a people defending their homeland.

The Ukrainian ensemble's performance was met with thunderous applause, and the blue and yellow colors became a symbol of courage and hope on the grand stage in front of Edinburgh Castle.

The Ukrainian Naval Forces Band won the festival, receiving the prestigious sword award.

On August 24, Ukraine's Independence Day, a unique event took place at Buckingham Palace's forecourt. For the first time, the Ukrainian military band performed alongside the Scottish Guard band during the ceremonial changing of the guard.

As a symbol of friendship and strong ties between Ukraine and Great Britain, the ensembles performed the world-famous piece Stand By Me by Ben E. King. Thousands of spectators witnessed this touching symbol of support and unity.

The joint march from Wellington Barracks to Buckingham Palace and the subsequent performance became not just part of the official ceremony, but also a historical recognition of Ukraine on the world stage.

For Ukraine, this is not just a cultural event, but a diplomatic gesture: through music, to convey the truth about our struggle and dignity to the world.

The warrior-musicians once again proved that Ukrainian culture can speak a language understood by all - the language of the heart.
