Children's Creativity Contest in Odesa and Wrocław
Odesa and Wrocław are cities renowned for their literary heritage and UNESCO cultural significance. Wrocław is famous for its gnomes, which symbolize the city, featuring over 1000 sculptures of these charming characters representing various professions and activities.
On October 25, 2024, a Ukrainian-Polish children's contest titled «Magical Heroes of UNESCO Literary Cities: The World of Gnomes» will commence in Odesa.
We invite young artists to illustrate their favorite fairy-tale character – a gnome, and write stories about this fantastic folk known as gnomes in Polish culture.
Entries will be accepted until November 25, 2024. Artwork should be in A3 or A4 format, and stories should be up to 5000 characters. Please send your submissions to: igо189188@gmail.com.
All submitted works will be showcased during the contest.
The jury from Odesa and Wrocław will select the best entries and announce the winners. Selected artworks will be displayed in an exhibition, and the stories will be published in a collection presented in Odesa and Wrocław.
This contest aims to strengthen cultural ties between Odesa and Wrocław.
The organizers of the contest are the Central Library System for Children of Odesa (Children's Library No. 45) in collaboration with the section of Odesa children's writers of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine.
