Final Tour of the 'Revival' Exhibition in Odessa
On November 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM, the Odessa Municipal Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov will host the concluding tour of the exhibition «Revival».
The memorial exhibition «Revival» honors the memory of the Odessa painter and graphic artist Alexander Yosipovich Shkuropat (1964—2008).
The tour will be conducted by Eduard Ratushnyak, a well-known Odessa journalist and admirer of Shkuropat's work.
At the «Revival» exhibition in the Bleschunov House, visitors will see paintings from series such as «Odessa and Its Surroundings», «City of Fish», «My Ukraine», and «The Abduction of Europe». Additionally, there are «home» works that the artist left for himself and his family as reminders of the beginning of his creative journey. These rare pieces will be shown to the public for the first time.
«Shkuropat was among the chosen few who decisively turned away from socialist realism in painting and breathed new life into decorative folklore, anticipating in Odessa the informal interest in Ukrainian culture and history, and outlining a new direction in the national art of generations of artists», — Eduard Ratushnyak shares.
